Happy Saix Puppy Day

“Hey um Zexion? What month is it?” Yumi waltzed, slowly and carefully, into the schemer’s room daring to ask the question.
“It’s July. Why do you ask?” he replied, not looking up from his book.
“Oh, ok. So where’s Saix?” she asked again. Zexion dropped his reading material.
“You mean you don’t know?!?!” he screeched.
The sweet girl cowered under what just happened. “Um…I guess so.”
“Maybe, it’s time you go see Demyx…” Zexion sighed.
“What!?!? Is something wrong with Saix?!? Please tell me!!! What’s going on!?!?” she explained rapidly.
“You’ll find out when you get there.” He replied nonchalantly, pushing her out the door. “Demyx will tell you the whole story.”
Yumi couldn’t help but think of what will happen to her precious Luna Diviner.
“Story? What story? What’s wrong with Saix in July?”

As much as Zexion PLEADED to Demyx to tell Yumi about Saix unfortunate and weird fate, the Melodious Nocturne always said no.
“Please Demyx. I don’t wanna say anything in this. It might break her non-existent heart!!” he cried.
“Sorry Zexion, you’re gonna have to find someone else to do it or do it yourself.” The other shrugged.
“I don’t wanna break her.” He whispered. The Melodious Nocturne couldn’t take anymore, especially if Zexion was THIS sad.
“Oh ok!!” He sighed, giving in as fast as Axel burning one of Marluxia’s plants.
“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!” Zexion exclaimed, with a lot of joy.
“But only if you’re there too.” Demyx crossed his arms across his chest, pouting as he did so. (Only Demy can do that!!)
“Of course, I will be.” Zexion scoffed. He walked off, thankful that the past event is over. “See you soon!!”

Yumi rapped lightly on Zexion’s door. But no one answered. Finally, unable to take in anymore waiting, she opened the door with a soft click and called out his name. “Zexion? Have you seen De-” she stopped.
The great library, where Zexion resided, was empty. And being a curious girl, she decided to be like Goldilocks and took a look around. She could barely make out anything in the dark, except for one book, which lay slightly hidden under a cloth, behind a bookcase.
“What’s this Zexion?” she questioned out loud. “A secret diary? Or just a random book?”
She couldn’t really tell. In the dim light, she could see shiny patterns on it. Whatever it was, it was designed to be fancy. Tracing the letters on cover of the book, she read it loud, “W-E-R-E-W-O-L-V-E-S?” she whispered. She opened the book and strained hard to read it.
“On nights of the full moon those who are especially designed, turn into the most dangerous of all beasts. The werewolf.” She read the text out loud, which seemed to be Zexion’s neat handwriting. “A particular experiment of ours was apparently one. His name was Saix, number VII, the Luna Diviner. He happens to be a unique species, who transform only in July. But something else intrigued me and Vexen and all the original six. Why was he a -” Yumi shut the book, unable to look into it after what she read.
“Saix? A werewolf? A vicious, malicious, evil werewolf? How could this happen?” she thought. Running out the room and taking the book with her, she fled the library only to bump into Zexion himself. “Yumi!! I was looking for you, ya know.” he said. He seemed relieved for a July evening.

“No!! Leave me alone!! Saix is a werewolf now isn’t he?!?!” she screamed.
“What!?! Who told you this!?!?!” He hissed. She was about to answer, but held it in reluctantly.
“You looked in the book, didn’t you?” He whispered. She nodded and fled the scene.
“Wait Yumi!!! Wait!!!” he yelled after her. But he was too late. “Dammit!”

Yumi sat, barricading the door to her room, tears welling in her eyes. “Saix is a werewolf? How come he didn’t tell me this?” she grimaced. What was she to do?

Yapping came from the other side of the door as well as what seemed like Demyx and Zexion knocking on the door. “Yumi!?! Yumi!?!? Open up please!!!” They yelled, trying to persuade her. She opened the door a slit, to see a small bounding blue puppy pawing the door. He had an X marked scar on his forehead and cute glittering yellow eyes. He bounced in, knocking Yumi over with unusual strength.
“Meet Saix puppy!” Demyx exclaimed, joyously.
“S-Saix puppy? I don’t understand.” She asked softly, as not to startle the happy puppy.
Zexion sighed. “Curiosity always kills the cat, Yumi. You should’ve gone to Demyx.” He said. She tried to protest, but Zexion continued. “Well, I guess it’s partly my fault. I should’ve told you. But anyway, keep reading what the book says.” He opened the book in her hands and Yumi read it out loud. “But something else intrigued me and Vexen and all the original six. Why was he a bounding blue puppy? Maybe because he was a werewolf in the somebody life and the opposite happened here. Or it’s just because it’s his month in July. These theories don’t really make sense. But today, the 1st of July, which marks the day he first became a puppy. Happy Saix Puppy Day.”

Yumi looked up. “So today is Saix Puppy Day?” she asked.
Demyx beamed and answered “Yup, Happy Saix Puppy Day Yumi!”
The puppy bounded into Yumi’s lap at those words. She smiled and sighed whispering soft and sweet words.
